Hi there!

My name is Jeanette, and I genuinely love what I do.

I love getting to know people and their stories. I love learning about the experiences that have shaped them, the relationships that matter most to them, and the ways they’ve learned to navigate life’s challenges.

Perhaps most importantly, I love being able to offer a space where people can be honest about what’s hard without feeling like they need to protect, reassure, or take care of anyone else.

But therapy isn’t only about surviving difficult moments.

It’s also a place to celebrate growth.

One of my favorite parts of this work is having a front-row seat to the ways people change over time. I get to witness the hard work, courage, and persistence that people often overlook in themselves. I get to remember where someone started when they’ve forgotten, and remind them of the strength, growth, and resilience they’ve shown along the way.

That’s part of why I feel so honored to do this work. In many ways, I get to serve as a witness to people’s stories, walking alongside them through different chapters of their lives, celebrating victories, holding space for heartbreak, and recognizing growth that once felt impossible.

That trust is something I never take for granted, and honestly, I still can’t believe I get to do this every day.

“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.”

— John A. Shedd

The name Safe Harbor Therapy reflects what I hope therapy can be: a place to pause, regroup, and make sense of what you’re carrying. A place where you don’t have to have all the answers before you arrive. The goal isn’t to stay in the harbor forever. The goal is to help you better understand yourself, navigate life’s challenges, and return to your life and relationships feeling more authentic, connected, and grounded.

I understand that change often comes with discomfort. You won’t be expected to have it all figured out, and you don’t have to hold things together perfectly here. Therapy can offer something many of us rarely give ourselves: permission. Permission to be human, permission to be curious, and permission to show up exactly as you are. I’m not afraid of what you might bring into the room, including the parts that feel messy, vulnerable, or painful to share. I’m here to support you through the hard parts, and I’ll be right there with you as you move through them.

While I work with individuals, couples, families, children, and teens, I don’t believe therapy is one-size-fits-all. Every person, relationship, and family brings unique strengths, experiences, challenges, and history into the room. Because of that, I tailor my approach to the needs of the people I’m working with. Although my approach is grounded in the same core values, the way we work together may look different depending on your needs, goals, and stage of life.
